“A new report from the International Humanist and Ethical Union names the seven countries in which atheists can be executed for their beliefs: Afghanistan, Iran, Maldives, Mauritania, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Sudan.
The sobering report was presented to the U.N. on Monday. It takes a broad look at the state of freedom of expression worldwide for nonbelievers. As Reuters notes, Islamic countries overwhelmingly account for some of the most brutal anti-“unbeliever” criminalization and discrimination documented in the report. The big offenders tend to be laws pertaining to apostasy, blasphemy, compulsory religious registration, religious tests for citizenship or participation in civic life, and religious control of family law and public education. For example, Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Kuwait, and Jordan all ban or strictly limit the publication of atheist views.”

There are milestone events in human history which helped humanity to evolve positively and develop more humane principles to conduct the societal life with.
Unfortunately, there are also some events which affect the evolution of societies negatively and tend to take humanity back to savage times in the caves.
Religious extremism is one such negative development in certain unfortunate communities. That sad development is self-destructive. An opposition and antidote to it rises from its own cadres and it terminates inside out. The plans and strategies from outside the hell-hole are counter-productive and actually fasten its growth to spread exponentially. The promoters of such negative developments should be left free to pursue their own design. Being self-destructive, they reach their termination through popular uprising and revolt. Unfortunately the spirit of saving their victims is counter productive and stretches its life to longer periods.
