*** It is time to reject British culture- Democracy- Language- English medium- Dress- Judiciary and mindset.
*** By following English language and English Medium Education System we are killing the natural talent of our children.
*** We are destroying our future.
*** We shall remain a slave of the British mindset.
RETURN TO HINDUSTANI DESI ISM. Educate your children in their mother tongue, not in the English Language.
*** In Japan- China- France- Russia etc education is in the mother tongue.

  1. Not so fast. The idea is good and extremely important, and was raised from the beginning of Independence, but first we have to build Urdu speaking schools even better than the English speaking schools. And for that we need systematic hard work and dedication. Just lectures and sirmons are not enough. We need practical examples. For example, believe me, although Urdu typewriter have been invented long time ago, and I did my post graduate degree from Pakistan, but I have never ever seen an Urdu typewriter in my whole life! Although with the invention of Computers the need has decreased a lot.

As I understand, the article is mostly about the School education and not about College or University level. I will agree with the Federal Education Minister, Shafquat Mahmood about a “Uniform Curriculum.” However the Author’s negative attitude and claim against Urdu as primary medium is misleading and dangerous. She claims that, “….1%children in Balochistan, 1% in K-P, 5% in Punjab and 2% in Sindh speak Urdu at home.” Pakistan is a unique country where almost everybody understands Urdu. Although Urdu is not the mother tongue of majority, it is the lingua franca. European or other countries are not like us. We are perhaps unique in this thing. In Pakistan almost everybody understands and speaks Urdu. Perhaps, we can make some adjustment for Kindergarten and Nursery schools but I believe that Secondary School Education should be in Urdu.

The groundwork for Urdu schools is already there but to bring it at par with English medium schools lots of hard work and dedication is required.
