O’ HEART! DOES ANY ONE KNOW WHAT YOU ARE?

O’ HEART! DOES ANY ONE KNOW WHAT YOU ARE?

In peace, heart tunes the love’s reed;
In war, it mounts the warrior’s steed.
It rules the court, the week, the bold,

And sparks love into young and old,
All men below and saints above;
For love is heart, and heart is love. . . . Ashraf

(Inspired by Sir Walter Scott’s poem on Love)

What is our Worth!

What is our Worth!

Parents are jubilant with the anticipation of child’s birth

Bundle of joy brings one more soul on the earth

Hopes and programs are put into actions

What is success depends upon the efforts with reaction

Some follow the schemes of thing and hope for the best

Majority fall into the cracks and reset

What is our worth we never will find?

Accepting the ground realities one should never mind

Heaven and hell are the realties which we all find once gone

Remember with every fragrance of rose bears thorns

Attitude drives the very essence of life as we face

We can try yet no gurantee for winning the race

Tragedy is unbearable when knowingly we fall into trap

Existence and struggle can be rolled into a wrap

Let’s keep on doing what little we can for others in need

Sharing can bring contentment and ward off greed

Your real worth is above and beyond your comprehension

Just enjoy life and stay away from tension

MISTRUST: A poem by Abid A. Kazi

Where has the trust among us gone

Once a word behind which all stood fast night to dawn

People used to live and die for the trust

Honor among all the odds was always first

Seems like trust too has become the victim of greed

Hearing and seeing moral values yet nothing heeds

Why have we become so insensitive towards morality?

What a shameless has become our personality

Trust began sliding when greed took over all of us

Whom to trust and whom not is merely a guess?

Values of life are traded to become rich and powerful

Crossing and running over all seems hardly pitiful

Alas we could comprehend the price we pay

All of us are in the same boat so nothing to say

If you believe in life hereafter than do the right thing

Empty came and empty we will leave does the bell ring
