A small wish to change the world

Dear Friends,

I would like to share my thoughts through the thinkersforum. I have written the below article.

Article: A small wish to change the world!

Each one of us earns for self and for family; how about everyone thinking beyond their own little world. There are people in this world who are poor, homeless, living on the streets. If each one of us develops a sense of responsibility towards them, it will make a great difference. It is usually a small portion of the society that is impoverished. The larger portion of the society can develop a system, a culture where every individual earns not just for self but also for the unfortunate few in the society. A small regular donation from every individual throughout the nation can end the curse of poverty. The surplus funds can be used to educate them and to break the vicious circle of poverty.
The education systems should be such that every child goes to school and the teachings should include lessons on building moral values, spreading kindness and love. Teachings like do not even harm an animal. The heart filled with kindness and love should only know to bow, not to pull an arrow.
And then the only other thing that needs to be changed is the way we “THINK!”, it is all that makes the difference. The major cause of all the worldly sorrows comes from here, from the way we think and we have seen it time and again: gender inequality, female foeticide, caste, creed, religion, race differences, homosexuality is crime, sex is a taboo, untouchability, people against love, corruption and so on.
If we could bring this change and develop a truly liberal society, we can end all sufferings and create a world full of happiness for everyone!.

Thank you.

  1. I’m surprised how people never tire to sermonize. We have countless traditions of giving alms, charities, donations (thankfully some are even tax exempt), Sunni Muslims give Zakaat and Shias give Khums, Hindus given Daan, and so on and on.Even governments collect tax from the money earners to take care of the hungry, homeless, diseased or unemployed, and to meet other expenses of the administrative infrastructure.Bill Gates, World’s richest person has already bequeathed almost entire wealth to charity. Many others who are close on his heels in riches have announced their intentions too. What is so special about this writer Amit Hiroji’s pontification ? Has he given his last farthing to charity? Or he’s just sermonizing ?

  2. Wequar Sahib your small wish to change the world is a BIG dream. However there is a famous saying: zameen jumbad ba jumbad, na jumbad Gul Muhammad–the earth can move and may move, but Gul Muhammad cannot move. Unless Gul Muhammad (meaning people) moves to change nothing is going to change.

  3. Mirza Saheb,
What small wish are you referring to ? I expressed no wish.
All I asked, or say, commented, is why was Amit Hiroji’s cookie-cutter suggestion circulated by the editor of TF USA for readers’ comments?
I agree with your opinion that change occurs with collective will. Collective will is created and steered only by a mega ideologue. Find me one if you can. All I see is an unruly crowd of lilliputians all over the world.
Standardization is imposed to monitor the behavior of general masses. But it restricts the innovative ideas and thwarts the creativity of a super ideologue who needs to think out of the box for creating a collective will, a prerequisite for the CHANGE. What an impasse !!
